Organisation: Habban Consultancy Ltd

Date of Issue: 27 December 2025

Review Date: 27 December 2026

1. Purpose and Statement of Intent Habban Consultancy Ltd is committed to encouraging equality, diversity, and inclusion among our workforce and in the delivery of our services, and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our consultancy to be truly representative of all sections of society and for every stakeholder to feel respected and able to give their best. We provide equality and fairness to all and do not provide less favourable facilities or treatment on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, ethnic origin, colour, nationality, national origin, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation. We oppose all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination.

2. Responsibility and Governance Adam-Joseph Smith, as Managing Consultant Director, has overall responsibility for this policy. We will monitor our EDI impact through regular progress. This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains compatible with the Human Rights Act 1998 and the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

3. Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Habban Consultancy Ltd adopts a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships.

While our annual turnover is below the statutory threshold for a mandatory statement under Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we voluntarily align our operational practices with the Act’s principles. We are committed to ensuring there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. We undertake due diligence when selecting sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure they share our commitment to fair labour practices and ethical trading.

4. SME Pledge for Net Zero The SME Climate Commitment is a globally recognised pledge designed to empower small and medium-sized enterprises to lead the transition to a low-carbon economy. By joining this initiative, businesses formally commit to three core pillars: halving greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, reaching net zero by 2050, and providing transparent, annual reports on their progress. This framework is co-hosted by the United Nations Race to Zero campaign, providing SMEs with the same scientific rigour and international standing as much larger corporations. Habban Consultancy is a proud member of this community, having integrated these targets into its core operational strategy. By signing the pledge, we have committed to immediate action, from auditing our carbon footprint to implementing sustainable procurement policies. For us, this isn't just a badge; it is a promise to our clients and the planet that we are future-proofing our business while contributing to the collective goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C.

5. LGBTQ+ Owned Habban Consultancy is a majority LGBTQ+ owned business, with 95% of our equity held by members of the community. This identity is the bedrock of our firm’s culture and values. We believe that professional excellence and authentic identity are inseparable, and we carry this philosophy into every consultancy engagement. Our ownership structure allows us to lead with a unique perspective, fostering innovation through diversity and challenging the traditional "status quo" in the private sector. We take our role as community advocates seriously. Beyond mere representation, Habban Consultancy is dedicated to economic empowerment within the LGBTQ+ ecosystem. We actively seek out diverse sub-contractors, support LGBTQ+ professional networks, and are pursuing formal certification with OutBritain, the UK’s leading LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce. By being visible and successful, we aim to pave the way for other queer entrepreneurs, proving that inclusive leadership is not just a moral choice, but a significant competitive advantage in modern business.
